The Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Accra originally opened in 1960, shortly after Ghana gained independence in 1957. It was temporarily closed in 1981 due to budgetary constraints.
The Turkish Embassy in Accra re-opened on 1 February 2010. Ambassador Kenan Tepedelen presented his credentials to His Excellency John Evans Atta Mills, President of the Republic of Ghana, on 20 May 2010.
The Embassy is also accredited to the Republic of Liberia.
The Embassy hosts the offices of the Commercial Counsellor, the Defence Attaché, and the Social Affairs Counsellor.
